About the Tours on offer
1) Pre-arrange tour dates; Standard tour
I have already selected dates (see listing) so can be booked per person / bike.
This tour is the same as above but is designed for individuals over set dates listed.I take a maximum of 5 bikes (up to 8 persons) so please book early. Please note the tour is just that, a tour, so speeds are kept to a reasonable level (no race monkeys). Our main goal is to have a great safe time riding and enjoy the socialising that comes over the 10 days with new riders and friends.
2) Personal tour dates; Private tour; You choose dates that suit
If you can arrange for a group of 4 to 5 bikes with up to 8 persons I can arrange a personal tour of the Algrave to suit your needs. You can nominate any dates that suit you and I will work around them. I will personally escort your group from the UK to the Algarve and back.
Tour details are as below.
For a more personal Tour I can change at your request, for example you can adjust the total lenght of tour etc and can include a longer time touring down to the Algrave, details can be flexable, please contact me with your requirements.
Got an "Adventure" bike and never had a proper off road adventure on it? If not, why not?
Here at Algarve Adventures Tours we specialise in on and off road guided tours of undiscovered Portugal.
Every route has been pre-ridden and graded suitable for standard Adventure Bikes with dual tyre’s fitted, and will suit whatever your capability.
Why not take the opportunity to vastly improve your riding skill levels both on and off road with professional instruction from our tour leader(s)?
The tour welcomes any Adventure bike owner even if ‘Off Road’ riding has never been experienced.The fully inclusive packages details are;
This is a ten-day Adventure.
After an overnight crossing from Plymouth in an ensuite cabin with Britanny Ferries, we disembark midday in Santander to ride south to Salamanca.
We overnight in the ancient university city centre of Salamanca after a 250 gentle miles ride from Santander port to get you used to just how fabulous Spanish roads/climate are!
Our 3* Ibis hotel is on a B+B, ensuite room basis and in a peaceful area with secure underground parking. Evening meal is usually alfresco on one of Salamanca’s historic squares, get to know your fellow Adventurers over Tapas and a Cerveza or two. Rude not to really?
After a tasty breakfast the following morning we head out to some even more stunning riding than yesterday. Mainly on perfectly surfaced, traffic free motorway and A quality roads, usually in warmth and sunshine.
We have regular coffee/snack stops in "locals" cafes on route, normally only riding 90 miles between fuel/rest stops. We arrive in Loule', Algarve, at 1700/1800 hrs. at a large modern villa with outdoor pool, set in a lush green orange/olive trees valley.
Amazing views to the coast. Here we have secure garage parking with workshop facilities.
Most other costs of living, fuel included are a lot cheaper. Evening meal are at one of many inexpensive and excellent Loule' restaurants, your REAL adventure is only another sleep away!
If you wish to just chill by the pool and have a lazy time, that too is up to you.
Our daily guided runs commence at 10.00, join us or do your own thing, though you really will miss a riding treat if you decide to stay put!The scenery, roads, villages, coast, mountains of this region are in a class of their own, a biking Nirvana, on or off road.
Many miles of researched/ridden of the local road tracks have been prepared for your enjoyment, it would take a lifetime to ride them all, if YOU could find them.
We have found them for you!
Your guided daily adventures span a seven-day period which will involute mainly top quality empty A and B type roads through out the Algarve region then we will peel off to an Unsealed Road/Route for about 5-10 miles.
These unsealed roads (very firm roads with slight loose surface) mainly take you across great views that can’t be viewed by normal roads and they normally join the local villages together.
Please note this is not an Eunduro event but enjoyable slightly challenging unsealed roads, little experience is needed, for those with more experience I have more challenging roads but this will be determined by the group taken.
(We have a small selection of trail bikes (Rieju 125) that can be hired if you want to try the more challenging off roads with the safety of these light weight bikes fitted with full off road tyres)
During the week you will also be given the opportunity to Visit the famous Portico Algarve race circuit to have a play on the Go Carts, or ride the Zip wire from Spain to Portugal plus many other events if you wish to do so, the Tour is catered around your needs or requests.
We return to Santander via a different route but includes the same Salamanca hotel stopover that you experienced enroute to Algarve.Main difference is that from Salamanca we ride the beautiful Pico's de Europa mountains to Santander. World class roads and scenery all the way, if you've never ridden the Pico's, you don't know what you're missing, stunning!
The normal plan is Ferry from Plymouth to Santander.
Accommodation on route is a Hotel in Salamanca 200 miles from the Spanish coast.
Then its a 400 mile trip to stay in a large Villa (with swimming pool) near Loule just 10 miles from the Algarve coast (near Faro).
During your stay I can arrange daily ride outs on some of the most amazing and empty roads in Europe.
This is located in a secluded area on the outskirts of Loule (approx 2 miles away).
The Villa has 3 double rooms, 1 twins room. A very large dinning / kitchen area with large TV and full satilite coverage of English programs plus DVD etc. 3 showers (two are en-suite). It includes a large Swimming Pool, plus a garage for secure bike parking.
The tour will be a maximum of five bikes so it will be a very one to one experience, not like most guided tours which simply offer you a map and say “see you there”. This trip/tour will be done at a leisurely pace, so will suit those who have limited experience travelling abroad. Even if you are an advance rider there will be many opportunities to ride the challenging roads at a pace to suit you.
If any one of the group wishes to fly out and hire a bike this can also be accommodated (please ask for details) .
If your partner would like to arrange a cheap flight out to Portugal (Faro). We can arrange collection. This gives them the freedom to choose to attend the tours on the bike with yourself or stop off at the Villa and chill out around the pool. This trip is very flexible. Let me know your thoughts and we’ll see what we can arrange.
Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the Algarve has a very mild climate, with very little rain full so making it ideal biking weather. In May and October the temperature ranges between 20-25 deg‘C.
A 10 day tour would have an inclusive price (see the amount above) this includes all Ferry Crossing and Accommodation for Rider and Bike. Pillons are only an extra.
Your only expense is fuel and food.
Please note; You will need to arrange your own personal insurance and bike recovery.
